and subsidiaries in Mexico, Denmark, England, Italy,
India, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japan. UL
also has numerous Inspection Centers located throughout
the world.
As of Feb 2, 2000, UL has assigned Geha Engineering
as its "Inspection Center" in Lebanon to
conduct "Follow up Services" for local manufacturer's
holding the UL Mark.
FOLLOW-UP SERVICES - This important part of UL's certification program protects and controls the use of the UL Mark. Each month, UL field representative in Lebanon (Geha Engineering) visits factories holding UL Mark on their product to observe, inspect and select samples to countercheck that products continue to meet UL requirements. This comprehensive program helps maintain the integrity of the UL Mark.
INTEGRITY - UL's experience and the methods employed for over 100 years along with close and cooperative contact with manufacturers, inspection authorities, consumers and others, have resulted in widespread acceptance of UL's Standards, recommendations and findings. Most insurance underwriters, federal, and municipal authorities, architects, building owners and engineers request the UL Mark.
BROAD INVOLVEMENT - UL's professionals are actively involved with industry, government agencies, federal, and municipal authorities and consumers, providing knowledge and receiving feedback about UL's requirements. UL participates on all twenty National electrical Code® development panels and on various international organizations like the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
